About 40 years ago a colleague had a young daughter who just HAD to have designer jeans. Mom & Dad told her they'd buy her Levis, Wrangler, or Roebuck jeans, but wouldn't pay triple so she could have jeans with the label of some designer of indeterminate gender. Little girl was very sad. But then Mom was at a craft show where someone was selling (drum roll please) . . . LABELS. Yep, counterfeit labels. Mom bought a handful and sewed them on the jeans, along with some decorative stitching. Daughter was delighted, her friends were envious.

Mom then told daughter what she'd done . . . daughter thought about it and was EXTRA delighted, asked Mom to "rebrand" more of her clothes. THAT'S GOOD PARENTING.

I wasn't sure there was something worse, but damn.  If I saw someone with one-legged jeans, I would just assume they were stupid.  That is at least functional clothing, but stupid.  I think if I saw someone wearing denim leggings with little leg belts I would just laugh at them.  Even funnier if they actually paid $1000 for them.

People do a lot of stupid stuff for protests and/or attention.  I don't think she was trying to sell that outfit as a commercial product. 

I am just trying to imagine seeing someone on the street wearing a one-legged pair of jean.  Not ripped or ragged cut-off, but stitched up nice so it was made that way.  It might have me rolling on the floor laughing.  Seeing someone with the jeans legging certainly would.  Of course, in a place like that there might be poop on the streets so maybe not.
