1 of the 3 parachutes fail to deploy properly.
BO talking head said it's designed to account for that but it looked like a hard landing to me, like really hard.

Guess they're okay as they're out and talking but that landing did look hard.

Good enough for Boeing and BO, it seems.

Parachutes seem pretty damn hard.  F9 block 5 has a lower raw anomaly count on landings than the BO capsule or the Boeing capsule, despite flying 100x more than either and having no redundancy.  Starting to appear that propulsive landing may be more reliable than chutes.

I hate to think what might have happened if the failed parachute had streamered instead of partially deploying.  The odds of it tangling with one of the other two chutes would have been higher, I think.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Well you can forget Sat

And there's the Starliner update. No new launch date:

NASA: "NASA, Boeing, and  ULA are forgoing the Saturday, May 25 launch attempt for NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test. The team has been in meetings for two consecutive days, assessing flight rationale, system performance, and redundancy. There is still forward work in these areas, and the next possible launch opportunity is still being discussed.

NASA will share more details once we have a clearer path forward."

Talking June 1 or 2. Someone keeps asking how bad will the fallout be if we kill these two astronauts?

Not sure what's going on with the three missing tiles. They've been missing since S29's rollout.

Now this is interesting as I didn't know they ejected the Hot Staging Ring

As the current HSR is kind of a hack job I suppose Booster V2 won't, maybe?

Destacking S29
Presumably to complete tile work and it has to be destacked to arm the FTS anyway. My guess is they'll restack a day or two before launch.
