I have three or four bricks bought during Clinton or before. I don't shoot .22 like I used to.

After CTD burned me on a bulk lot of 8mm Mauser, they will NEVER see a dime of mine! It looked like it had been shoveled out of the bilges of sunken ships!

People, including the owner of this board, will argue that there is no such thing as price gouging and if it is that is a good thing because it regulates supply and demand. Well, some companies are just vultures. Not advocating laws for gouging just let the free market decide and for my small part I never miss a chance to bad mouth a company like CTD. My prices have gone up but I walk the gun show and make sure I am in line with the broad market.

PS: I had to TUMBLE and hand inspect EVERY round in that lot as there were plenty of NON-8mm Mauser cartridges in there as well including but not limited to:
30-06
7.62x54R
.303 Enfield
Some Wooden projectile AK(???) round
AK ammo
and assorted ammo I could NOT identify (French???)

Why do people continue to post CTD ads and express surprise at their prices?

CTD is a den of thieves, nothing more, nothing less.

No, never.  And they never intended to do that.  The "Cheaper than dirt" sign is the same as the "Good Food"  signs you see along the highway at the truck stops.  Neither sign is accurate and the owners know that.

I ordered a bunch of German surplus 7.62 NATO from them ~10 years ago. Got a decent deal on it and it's was good quality, Still got maybe 2,000rds of it left in cans.

The last .22 bulk ammo I bought I paid $99 for 5,000 rounds.  I don't do onesy twosy.  I have enough of the calibers I shoot to last a long time so I haven't kept up on the gouging that is going on.  I do get email ads from them but never look at the ammo prices.  That one caught my eye and I posted it for fun mostly.

I bought a 5000 round case of CCI a couple years ago.  I haven't shot much of it yet, but I was happy to have it over the last year.  One less caliber to worry about.

I have a pretty decent supply of .22, the result of being a regular at the Wally World gun counter back when Golden Bullet value packs were under fifteen bucks.

.380, on the other hand, is something I'd like a couple more boxes of.
