Pilot error.

Was that thing "sanitized?"

I can't seem to get it on either of two browsers, and verified that my sound system was working. The links bring up the Media Player in the upper left screen corner, then.... nuthin'.

Trouble is, the guy was probably right one to ten, A to Z.

Anyhow, when I worked for an "agency," the rule was the mike was always open and don't let your guard down when the on air light goes off.  A thesis was presented where the audio engineers would supposedly do this on purpose... "accidentally" leave one mike hot and the tape running.

Prudence and propriety dictate that I should not sign this one.

Yeah, well, who hasn't gone on a profanity laced tirade about the Bay area specifically, or California in general?

Doh!  Sounds like Southwest 531 is guilty of that.

Luckily for me, the Airbus radio times out after 40 seconds and gives us an audible beep to let us know the mic was turned off automatically.

A few years ago I was flying down to Florida and I had a FAA inspector sitting on the cockpit jumpseat.  There was turbulence everywhere so there were no "smooth rides."  Every pilot on the frequency was complaining about the rides to ATC and asking if there was any smooth air.  The controller was getting fed up and you could hear it in his voice.  Finally, he snapped.  One more pilot checked on the frequency asking, "How are the rides ahead?"  The controller responded, "Shitty.  The rides are shitty everywhere."

I looked at my FO and then at the FAA inspector and asked, "Did he just say shitty?"  The FAA guy responded with a shrug, "He is right."  No harm no foul.
