Just consider - industry puts out somewhere around 40 gigatons of CO
2 into the atmosphere annually. It seems like a lot, but it's actually a tiny, tiny fraction of the atmosphere, which weighs around 5.5 quadrillion tons.(Haven't done the math myself, just took the number off the web.) Now, just imagine for a moment how much air would have to be processed to get even ONE gigaton of CO
2 out. This would require an industrial effort dwarfing the Manhattan Project, Apollo moon landing program, and the Interstate Highway programs
combined.Then there's the power generation -
carbon free power generation - required to run these plants.
It's a boondoggle/scam which utterly dwarfs everything the late Bernie Madoff did. Even AOC must be embarrassed, since by comparison her Green New Deal is trivial, costing a mere 93 trillion dollars.
Next up, someone will propose putting a dam across the Straits of Gibraltar and draining the Med to make room to plant more trees as a carbon sink.
