The manosphere started as a trial and error approach to different tactics to get chicks.

I guess there are a lot of definitions of "manosphere". The two versions that youtube recommendations exposed me to are:

Both of these are almost like a non-pornographic Only Fans in that they're both kind of pandering to guys who can't get dates, or even the many of us who roll our eyes at the women who want us to both hold the door open for them, but then yell at us if we do.  At the same time, they do bring up good points about modern feminism and modern dating, in the vein of the 666 stuff brought up above.


2) Also what people like Garand Thumb and John Lovell say. They both talk about traditionalism, and also focus on their (I assume) majority young guy audience to get off the porn, which as a boomer, I've only lately learned that "porn as a relationship" (and the detrimental brain rewiring that goes with it) is almost a common and accepted thing among the Gen y-z guys (and I guess some gals too). Lovell talks about it on his channel all the time. GT doesn't really bring it up on his channel, but since he's moved to Idaho, he has been giving lectures at places like Boise State geared towards young guys embracing traditional family and religion.

I'm sure it's moved on and changed since the days I perused the popular sites. In was pretty underground initially. Not as much of a youtube presence back then, mostly blogs and forums.

It was never my area of focus but it was entangled with some other ideological/philosophical trends I was investigating.

An interesting time for sure and I did learn a bit. Sort of humbling in that I was able to identify some mistakes I'd made in relationships and some false assumptions I'd held.

I suppose it's the modern equivalent of hookers, in the, "When we're done, she leaves" vein. However there have been studies* done that show guys who get deeply into the internet porn, where your every sexual fantasy and fetish can come true, lose the ability to have physical sex with real girls. Apparently for some young guys (and maybe older ones too, but I only hear about this as "acceptable" for the gen-z crowd - I suppose in the way "trans" and genderfluid" are acceptable) it's perfectly normal to spend hours every day getting off on the porn and thus not  having to deal with a relationship or responsibility to get their sex.

There are a lot of studies that show that most of us have had our brains somewhat rewired just from Internet use, such as losing the ability to focus on a task because our brains are being rewired to jump down internet rabbit holes and get bored after five minutes of a video or such. The brain rewiring from the internet porn can apparently be much more severe. Kinda like Barkley in Star Trek TNG when he gets the holosuite addiction.

Many years ago, I heard a old preacher say that gender neutral language was Satanic.  I thought he was nuts. 

Now I'm not so sure.   

I don't believe in a Satan, since evil lies in the hearts of men, not on some external critter riding on your left shoulder. 

             

But I understand Satanic as an adjective, and I would agree that most of the Left's activities are Satanic in that sense, as well as individually short-sighted, ignorant, and stupid.  The term "useful idiots" crops up in my mind.

I'm not 100% confident in that.  I've got ten bucks that says if some etymologist digs deep enough, he'll find the term used even back in the days of Socrates. <GRIN>
