The Japanese government is urging citizens to “take shelter immediately” after North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile.

“ALERT: The Japanese government is warning that North Korea appears to have launched at least one ballistic missile,” the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo tweeted. “There’s a possibility it’s heading toward Japan. The government is urging everyone in the country to monitor news media.”

North Korea has fired a ballistic missile over Japan, the fifth launch in 10 days, amid expectations that it is gearing up to test its first nuclear weapon in five years.
