In a partial answer to your question, some activists approve.

My question is . . . how can we get more activists to engage in altruistic acts of self-immolation? Maybe have a DNC-sponsored "burn in" out where they had the Burning Man gathering? Or on a barge anchored offshore for easier clean up and disposal sustainable recycling of the remains? (Contact Elon Musk about how to make the deck fireproof.)
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

If only more looney left activists had that guys level of commitment the world would be better place!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
