Sure, I didn't take a loan out for college. I took a job in the oil patch to save up the money for it, then took a job at the county dump so I could do my first two college years at night. Then I quit work to concentrate on the last two years, finishing undergrad at 32 instead of 22. Then TA'd to cover my grad school tuition.
Also, my first home mortgage was 16%, so these idiots can shut up.
