Stupid Song
« on: April 11, 2007, 12:54:50 AM »
Right now theres a stupid song on the radio. Some guys singing about shorty, youre my angel, interspersed is some rapper (Shabba Ranks?) I cant understand and yet&the music is making my backbone & hips want to do things they definitely should not be doing at work. I do not like this song. But something in my body sure does. What is this and does anyone else suffer from it?

I'd say it was a case of having "that boogie woogie right down in your very soul".  grin

Well I think the song you talk about is using cuts from the old Juice Newton hit from the 80's "Angel of the Morning" but yeah the new rap version leaves a little to be desired I think.

The artist is "Shaggy".

That happens with a lot of dance/progressive house/trance tracks. The cure is to invest in a DDR pad.  grin

That the tune and rhythm are alluring does not require that the lyrics have rational meaning.

I still recall Vincent Price speaking the words in his own inimitable fashion, of the 1960s R&R song, "Get A Job".  Helluva fun song to dance to, but the lyrics would only have meaning for a room temperature IQ.

Not much has changed, neh?
