The Twitter Files
« on: December 09, 2022, 09:04:37 PM »
I was going to post on the "Musk and Twitter" thread but I'm starting to get the impression that the Twitter Files will soon need their own thread.

So here we go: https://twitter.com/mtaibbi/status/1601352083617505281?s=20&t=QHFUIA1R8TPufwvGQYfArA

This thread lays out the increasing editorializing from twitter exec's building up to the 2020 election and up to J6 2021.  More is promised.  The thread has receipts of exec's just making calls to suppress, shadow ban, and  actual ban folks they just didn't like, as well as numerous references to working with fed.gov to suppress speech.

Both those are real issues. Editing the town square while claiming section 230 Immunity is retarded and two faced.

The FBI and DHS taking an active hand in suppressing political speech is criminal and should result in jail time at the least. (This is one of the few places I'll agree with Pb and say we should put some folks against the wall.)

It's also becoming increasingly obvious that a bunch of tech bros lied to Congress under oath.

Other than a resounding "Holy *expletive deleted*it" I can say I'm glad it's unlikely I'll ever meet Yoel Roth in real life, because I'd probably take a swing at him.

These latest releases are just extraordinary. Now we learn that the Office of DNI was colluding with Twitter?

Also, we're learning that as much as they were shadow banning the people they didn't like, they were greatly "amplifying" as they call it, their favored people and positions. We've talked here before about how frustrating it is that these news site algorithms that are supposed to find stories tailored to our personal preferences are always popping up with "Hillary is a hero" stories when we despise Hillary, for instance.

The Occom's Razor explanation was always, "You probably read some Hillary stories even though you didn't agree with them, so they get recommended to you." While that certainly takes place, we're now seeing that Twitter (and thus we know the rest of big tech as well) was very actively stealth-picking favorites.

At this point you have to have zero brain cells to believe that big tech and MSM election manipulation was not a major factor in the 2020 results.

And lets also not forget stuff like this, which harmed and even killed people by pushing politics over science:

Ben said,
"At this point you have to have zero brain cells to believe that big tech and MSM election manipulation was not a major factor in the 2020 results."

Some paranoids are being vindicated?

All the BS about "no proof" illustrates my chain of logic:

------------------------------

On "proof:"

1.There is no proof without evidence.
2. There is no evidence without investigation.
3. There is no investigation without suspicion.
4. But suspicion without proof is paranoia, so shut up, you paranoid conservative.

They wrapped all that up in a nice little package, right?

Hey, boys and girls:

Paranoia pays, nowadays.

This thread by Bari Weiss reveals the reality of shadow banning:

https://twitter.com/bariweiss/status/1601007575633305600?s=20&t=BukxRD-qSNnp1oU90zQh-w

The fed gov has had these same influences on the MSM for decades. Doing the same with social media is just a natural extension and no surprise to me. What's surprising to me is that someone is actually publishing proof. I doubt it will lead to any significant changes and those with their head in the sand about the manipulation of the MSM will also ignore all of this evidence. But hey, it's refreshing to see the attempt made.

Operation Mockingbird has never ceased.  Note all those FBI agents in key positions of control throughout twitter.

Biden is going to get right on that.

That has actually been a shocker to me since the release of the files. I had no idea that the FBI was that deeply intertwined with Twitter.

I also have noticed some other interesting things, like one of the recent rage-quitting employees had the last name of "Podesta". I'm curious about how many other dem establishment/dynasty family members have been getting twitter paychecks.

And should we mention the child porn and sex trafficking that was happening on Twitter while all these FBI agents were running the place?  Sus mofos.

Let me know if I've got this right:

If the FBI gives Twitter recommendations and advice on who or what to censor, they're a private company, and can do whatever they want. I mean, our DemocracyTM is on the line, and the Russians are trying to take over our elections, but no biggie.

If a homosexual couple asks their local bakery for a cake, that private company bloody well better do what they say. Or else.

But baking the cake isn't a recommendation or advice ... IT'S A MORAL IMPERATIVE!

Also: if the FBI reimburses the private company for the cost of the labor needed to censor someone,  that's not paying for censorship.

It won't matter. If the only major media outlet reporting it is Fox, then 3/4 of the country will ignore it.

We're past the point of no return.

Biden could try to snort coke off a middle school cheerleading team, on video, and it wouldn't be believed, because big media would ignore it...

Talk like that is a cop-out. It's a whole lot easier than trying to find ways to fix things.

Oh, well, the GOP isn't going to fix it. I guess we'll just give up.

The only way we can fix anything (maybe) is by getting involved in the primaries.  But that's a major uphill battle; I've tried it once.  If the establishment R's don't like your candidate they will cheat to keep him (or her) out of the national convention.
