^ Maybe you should go outside where it's probably warmer than by your desk.

(High school Freshman level but somebody had to do it and I drew the short straw.)

I plan on being full of anti-freeze for the rest of the evening.

According to the damned hippies at Weather Underground, it is -4 outside. Inside, I'm at 64. Will probably crank on the propane heater for about a half an hour, and hit the rack after I shut it down.

I did some work on the windows, doors, etc., and the house is much happier this year than last.

Hopefully the temperature will be positive sometime tomorrow.

We’re not getting above 0 ambient in SW Ohio until 2100 hours tomorrow eve.  Wind chill will still be below 0.

High of 54 on Wednesday next week….smh

Had an email from a friend in Cascade, Montana, reporting -40 last night. She said she has never experienced anything that cold.

-40 F or C?

LOL . . . trick question. At -40, the proper response is "Yes"     ;)

We hit -11 last night. Forecast is a high of -1 today.
Luckily we didn’t got the 6” of snow. What we did get is blowing like mad but manageable.
I just brought another wheelbarrow of firewood down from the woodshed. I’ll burn a couple wheelbarrows full today I’m sure.
Propane tank is 80% on a thousand gallons. Winter is outside but it’s nice here inside.
Wife had a pretty rough night last night with swelling and pain and I was up with her a lot but the tough little Norwegian is doing pretty well.
Township plow truck came by once but I wouldn’t want to have to go anywhere.

Sort of like the square root of minus 1, whose constant symbol is "i" for "imaginary."

May be a good day to pull out one of the 6lb lasagnas out of the freezer and throw it into the oven.

I made kugelis yesterday. Turned out great - as always. (Shared some with the neighbor lady - she liked it. Even commented that the bacon added good flavor - and she's Jewish.)

Fried some up for breakfast this morning.  =D   Home made chicken soup is on the menu for lunch. Good food and drink is a good way of dealing with snowmageddon events.

For those of you with electric stoves to cook up that good stuff, I hope you have power.

(I never heard of a gas line being blown down by the wind. Or a tree falling on one.)

Yep, electric here.
My biggest worry was the wind knocking the power out, thankfully it didn't even blink. I was prepared just in case.

Got a reconditioned battery for $45 about two weeeks ago for a backup.  Sitting outside (in the car, on my balcony) for all that time, cold-soaking at or below zero for two days.

No charging, no warming, this morning voltage was 12.6 --ie, nominal full-charge after resting from a charge.

Good deal for 45 bucks, a pleasant surprise.

I have a small 12VDC-to-110VAC inverter I have used to get on line with about ten years ago during a bad outage.

Useful for charging USB stuff too.

I'm at Castle Key's place in coastal central Virginia.

High was this morning, around 45 degrees. The wind picked up pretty good a few hours ago as the front started pushing in. Had about 20 minutes of monsoon rain around 10:30, now it's absolutely clear, windy as hell, and 36. The low tonight is still forecast to be 11, and tomorrow won't go above freezing.

The winds should die down around 5 to 6 pm. If the power goes out, the generator will kick in. Right now, the plan is to sit on my ass in the TV room and, when it gets chilly, turn on the gas fire and cuddle up with one of the 4 Leonbergers who are currently are site.

Last Christmas it was cold down here, but the day before I was going to head home we had about 4 inches of snow that ended up closing I-95 for over 24 hours because the Democratic Governor couldn't make up his mind how to do anything about it.

Of course, the people who were losing their freaking minds over the government inaction were blaming Goveror Youngkin.... who wouldn't take office for another 2 weeks.

The left is really *expletive deleted*ing dumb.
Carbon Monoxide, sucking the life out of idiots, 'tards, and fools since man tamed fire.
