There's a new Starbuck's under construction in town. The plans called for two restrooms, and originally they were both labeled "Restroom." But our state building code explicitly requires that such places have separate toilet facilities for men and women, so we were able to quash the idiocy -- at least temporarily. Once they get their certificate of occupancy, there's nothing the building inspector can do if Starbuck's decides to replace the signs. Hopefully, the management will be enough concerned with getting the new store up and running that they won't be bothered with restroom signs.
