Sort of thread veer, but still 2024 elections.
It looks like while it wasn't overwhelming, conservatives made some significant strides across the EU elections. Or at least the commies took some good hits. I was pleased to see that the greens in Germany took something of a shellacking. Also Marcon is none to happy.
Reading some of the German stuff, it looks like the Alternative for Germany party (something of a cross between MAGA/Tea Party and libertarian) made significant strides, partially because of 18-34 year old voters.
It appears that a major reason for the shift in the various EU countries is immigration, which people, including younger voters there, are getting as sick of as we are. In fact in many countries, they are more sick of the "asylum for any reason" immigrants than they are with the illegals, just because of (from what my kraut relatives tell me at least) all the tax money and other special dispensation that goes to them for various integration programs, which often is much more than the "asylum seekers" get here.
