Oh, I could see enough of it on the twitchy link and they repost key points.  I was just explaining why I didn't know you had already posted it.

I don't have you on "ignore" or anything.   =)

Newsmax is reporting that Biden has agreed to end his (re)election bid, intends to serve the remainder of his term, and will not endorse Kamala Harris for President.

Take with a grain of salt, for now.

and will not endorse Kamala Harris for President.

Someone in the comments said that's because she told him she was voting for Trump

Oh, no! Lord of the Rings!

Quote
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow took issue with Vance's love for "Lord of the Rings," and seemed to connect the series to the "far right."

"Like his mentor, like Peter Thiel, who had given him all his jobs in the world, Mr. Vance also when he founded his own venture capital firm with help from Peter Thiel, named it after a Lord of the Rings thing. He called it Narya, N-A-R-Y-A, which you can remember because it’s Aryan, but you move the n to the front," Maddow said. "Apparently, that word has something to do with elves and rings from the Lord of the Rings series, I don’t know."

Saw that. They must have an entire team of people who do nothing but sit around and figured out how to twist things into something racist.

Wow, Van Jones has gone full extreme far right fascist

Quote
On Wednesday night, Van Jones appeared on a panel with the network's other political commentators to discuss the Republican National Convention and the election.

'Today is terrible day,' the one-time Obama adviser said. 'If you pull back and look at this thing: strength versus weakness. A bullet couldn't stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden.'

Well, it is Keith Olbermann so you have to factor that lunacy in.

I would rather have them boot Joe and Mika for being pompous asses who think they are irreplaceable but we know that won't happen either.

Notice Nimoy was the only one in that without pointy ears

In the comments

"I attended a Trek convention with a friend in the 80s. He had a copy of Nimoy's LP and wanted it autographed. He presented it to Nimoy during the signing event. Nimoy shook his head and said, "God, I thought we burned all of these", then grudgingly signed it."

The music played at the close of the RNC was  "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's opera Turandot.  It was also used in the film The Sum of all Fears at the end where the president gets payback on those who tried to kill him.

Some find the choice significant.

It has been interesting watching the bots (or Soros teen army with today's emailed orders?) on reddit of late. This morning, the below is all over the place, each with a "person" from a different European country and with slightly altered text, but giving the same message:

Quote
An europeans view on Trump

As a French, I can't believe that Trump even has a chance of winning. He's by far the biggest threat to American democracy we've ever seen, yet the polls show he might actually win???

What is going on? How can you seriously consider this? Trump ignores any election results he doesn't like, claiming they're rigged by the "deep state" without any evidence. He should never be president, under any circumstances. The Democrats could nominate a rock, and I'd vote for it over Trump. Biden might be old, but at least he's not trying to overthrow the government. The fact that Trump even has a shot at winning shows just how troubled the USA is right now.

I guess we're suppose to care what someone in France thinks.
Do they care what Americans think during their elections?

Latin is dead, but hardly useless. It's the basis for all non-Germanic European languages. If you know Latin, learning all the other romance languages is much easier.  It also informed a much better understanding of English, and is important to effectively studying a lot of history.
