Jim Scoutten, long-time TV presenter of firearms shows, has passed.

Always tagged him as the kinda guy it would be fun to sit on a porch and drink coffee with.

RIP.

I can imagine his voice..."Keep them in the 10 ring."  Enjoyed his work to the point of jealousy for some of the shooting he got to do.

Rest well, sir.

I remember watching him on various Saturday morning shooting shows a couple of decades ago. Seemed like a swell guy. RIP.

That's too bad. Guy had a fantastic narration voice.

That’s really a shame.  For his viewers, his voice was as recognizable as James Earl Jones’.  I hope his son gets to carry on his legacy.

Sad news.
At the NRA conventions in St. Louis in '07 and '11, Mr. Scoutten was eminently approachable and seemed to enjoy speaking 1 on 1 with attendees.  While his son doesn't have as distinctive a voice, he is good at what he does as well.

That's a shame - I saw him on TV numerous times, he really seemed to enjoy his job.
