AGs in dem states are attacking the companies for not moving forward with the code, accusing them of bowing to political pressure. Kinda hysterical, since they were originally going to do the codes based on political pressure.

The article says 16 state AGs are complaining. I'm curious on how many states are currently passing legislation banning the practice. I know of several, but don't have a complete list.

Simple.  Make it a crime to use anything but a credit card to make gun/ammo/accessory purchase.  De facto registration.
