Do well on all your assignments, turn them in on time attend class every day ... and at the end of the term, someone who skipped half the classes, didn't do half the assignments, but who aced a couple of tests (probably by cheating) gets the same grade you do.
That's the new "equity." It's no longer about equal treatment, or equal ability, or equal opportunity ... it's all about leveling the playing field by manipulating the system until everyone gets the same scores on everything.
A prepandemic study by Crescendo Group showed a decrease in Ds and Fs under equitable grading—and a decrease in the number of As awarded.
In other words, the system is working according to the plan ==> institutionalized mediocrity.
