As Israel continues to drop leaflets, send warnings, and delay attacks to give "civilians" a chance to get to a safe zone. In quotes, because I truly wonder just how many of them are "innocent civilians". While I'm sure many have no choice, it also seems many "civilians" happily work as Hamas shields.

The Gaza strip is composed of a population with which even the surrounding countries, who are culturally similar, want nothing to do with.

When a populace supports the violent actions of its government, the populace is every bit a fair target in warfare.

This goes equally for Gaza in this conflict, German cities in WWII, and the US today.

This is a lesson that democracies struggle to learn, though.  The US didn't apply it in A-stan or Iraq.  Looks like Israel understands it, but is air dropping leaflets as diplomatic cover (no one in Gaza has anywhere to flee).  I guarantee that the muslims grok, which is why they prefer to attack soft civilian targets rather than military ones.

Since Hamas couldn't exist and continue to operate without support of the majority of the population, I'd say the only group comprised largely of "innocent civilians" are the children being used as human shields by adults - including their parents.

The only thing I'm not certain about is exactly where to draw the age limit - maybe early teens?

And didn't Biden resume financial aid to Gaza which Trump had stopped? Aid that as sure as the sun rises in the East funds Hamas? Isn't the Hamas leadership hanging out in Qatar? And how does one keep arms shipments to Lebanon away from Hezbollah?

These actions can no longer be explained by senility or stupidity, there's actual malice in play.

What is standing in the way is that most, if not all, of the hostages are likely dead now, and Hamas is looking at how to work with that. Hence stuff like the recent, "We'll release 30 hostages, dead or alive". Probably 30 because they haven't been dead long enough for their bodies to be in full decomposition, like the other 100.

Sacramento State takes a knee

California State University, Sacramento ended disruptive protests on its campus this week by working with students to create new policies on investment ostensibly aimed at Israel.

Protests ended on Wednesday after the school updated its policies to state that the university "directs its auxiliaries [...] to investigate socially responsible investment strategies which include not having direct investments in corporations and funds that profit from genocide, ethnic cleansing, and activities that violate fundamental human rights."

Maybe, but it wouldn't shock me if a lot of innocent women and children had been killed both by Israeli and Hamas action in this conflict.  It's hard to fight a war in a heavily populated zone without leaving a lot of innocent bodies around.
