Wireless eardbuds for poors?
« on: December 03, 2023, 02:35:37 PM »
I cannot part with Airpod money, but I do have some Christmas cash to spend. The budget tops out at $80.

Either 1- or 2-piece styles would work, as long as they're not the earmuff type that covers my ears (too sweaty). They'll mostly be used while working around the house.

Bonus points if they're locally sourced, organic, and GMO-free.

Keep an eye out on unclaimedbaggage.com , they will often have those things at a deep discount.

I've been using Anker Life P3s for a while and like them so much that when I lost one of my earbuds (didn't set up the "find my earbuds" prior, my fault), I purchased a 2nd set.  When my German shepherd ate that, I purchased a third.  Awesome sound, bass, microphone, active noise-canceling, and battery life.

Currently, all color options are on sale at Amazon ($49).   I have had many earbuds over the years and these have impressed me most, especially considering the price.

Knowing how careless I am with earbuds, I purchased their "budget" version (Anker P20i) that unlike the Life P3's lacks ANC, wireless charging and I believe has fewer microphones, they still have excellent sound quality (especially base) but perhaps not as good midrange.  Those sell for $19.

I can't say enough about Anker's Life P3s.  Two coworkers who have purchased P3s at my suggestion have made it a point to get back with me and rave over the unbelievable value.

I don't think I want used earbuds, but thanks for the link. I was trying to find that site a while back, but couldn't remember what name they were using.

I bought these last May:

I'm by no means an expert on earbuds (or any other music reproducing objects), but I like these.  They held up during a TX summer (hot & humid) while I worked in the yard.  They were loud enough to hear over the riding mower & chainsaw, and the sound quality was more than adequate.  I would run out of juice before the batteries died.  I'd buy 'em again.

I have been using Raycon ear buds.  They work well enough that I never had an issue with them.  I may need to try others just to compare.  People like Donut Operator used to have discount codes.  The model I am currently using is above your limit.

I’ve used a few different earbuds from SoundPeats. Cheap, durable enough, and work fine. I’ve killed a few pairs by dropping them and stepping on them or my dog chewing on them.

That sounds like a great recommendation. Thanks.

I've gone through a few pairs in the $30-40 range. They worked great. For a while.

Have you tried/thought about the bone conduction sets? They work amazingly well and many are "weather proof" for joggers etc.

Here are the ones I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G3HTB1X

$99 now but there are cheaper ones out there.
