My kids are coming to visit for a while tomorrow, they are only an hour away. Instead of the traditional Christmas fare I have decided to do a basic BBQ meal. We will have beef ribs that I source from rib roasts when the ribeyes go on sale, they have to do something with the ribs. :) I will also be doing pork belly burnt ends. Just basic sides, baked beans, corn and baked potatoes. The one concession I will do as a nod to the season is I made the homemade eggnog tonight. I thought I had brandy in the house but was sadly mistaken so I used some cognac and Kraken rum in the nog and by god it is pretty damn good! I am actually looking forward to the visit now, we will see how I feel tomorrow about this time.
