RIP Toby Keith
« on: February 06, 2024, 08:42:08 AM »
Just heard he passed away at age 62 - no immediate cause of death was given, but he'd been fighting stomach cancer for a year.

He wrote & performed some good songs - Courtesy of the Red White And Blue, Beer for my Horses, How Do You Like Me Now, and others.

RIP Toby Keith.

He put on a brave face and fought like hell, but the cancer finally won.

RIP. He seemed like a genuinely good guy.

Not trying to generalize, but it seems like chew is big with country singers. I wonder if Toby used it and if it contributed to the stomach cancer?

"Should've been a Cowboy" was my favorite.   Lots of close seconds though.

Probably not political so I merged the dupe thread in politics with the one in the roundtable.  =)

I really liked Toby Keith. I sort of remember hearing that he had cancer, but I didn't expect it to take him so young.

62 is young?

I'm 63. I feel old.

But I don't have cancer until I hear about the biopsy.

I’m 65.  The song “Don’t Let the Old Man In” is one of my favorites to play when I’m feeling my age.

Boy, 62 is young.  Wasn't much bothered by arthritis until I was 70, although I'd been using a cane for long walks.  Had a chance to retire  at 71.

RIP.
