Comedian dies on April Fools' Day
« on: April 04, 2024, 09:59:37 PM »
Joe Flaherty; known for SCTV, Freaks and Geeks, Happy Gilmore, etc, passed away April 1st. If comedians cannot manage to be born on that auspicious day, they should at least arrange to die on it.

I'm sorry to say I never knew his name. I always called him Guy Caballero.

I mostly thought of him as Count Floyd, the host of "Monster Chiller Horror Theatre"

Before SCTV I think he was part of the National Lampoon Radio Hour, most of whom went on to form the original cast of SNL. (back when it was funny)

The thread title finally reminded me of the line from the Watchman.  "A Comedian dies in New York" or something like that.  I might have to watch that again.
