My Father had a Harbor Freight bench top drill press.

It was adequate for what we used it for.

If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I've been using the same HF bench top drill press since the early '80s.  Haven't done anything to it except clean off the rust every now and then.  Done work on a couple classes of race cars, quite a few street cars, dirt & street motorcycles, household projects, outdoor projects, etc. etc. etc.

Like a Timex, it's still ticking.  Hasn't had a problem with breaking bits or actually anything else.  It's a multi-speed, but I rarely change it.  Still has the original belt on it.

There have been times when it was a bit small for the job, but with a little ingenuity it's worked.

The big difference between the HF drill presses and the high dollar ones from outfits like MSC, is not the straightness or runout - it is the life of the bearings. The $$$ drill presses will run all day long, every day, with a minimum amount of maint... The HFs will burn out with constant use. But  you aren't going to use it like that, so don't worry.
