Not really - current reports are that the SS fired multiple shots and missed.

In another couple of days, this will be completely off the media... I got a quick look at the guy's FB before it got zapped, and he's basically, if not a Bernie Boy, at least a Biden Boy...  Looks like a California AK, and he's allegedly from Hawaii... I guess he managed to get the cash together...
 
Somewhat reminds me of the Belleville, IL congresscritter shooter.

The "shooter" was 200 - 300 yards from Trump. His forward SSA team was 2 holes AHEAD of him when they spotted the guy and fired on the "shooter's" position.

So apparently we're laughing at the Secret Service for missing the bad guy with all their fire. Don't we need to know the range first? They don't all have sniper rifles.

Given the landscaping it's pretty unlikely the loon had line of sight on Trump.  Impossible to tell from reports to date.

Elk hunting I've had them jump and run 30 yards in front of me and I never saw them because vegetation was just too thick. 

From what it appears to me based on satellite photos of the course I doubt one could identify a target that was not on the same hole as the shooter.  It appears the landscaping was intended to make it so you couldn't easily see people on other holes (or have your ball land on another hole).

No.  The Advance team was the one that saw the shooter while going ahead of Trump.  Shooter was between Hole 5 and Hole 7.  5 is a par 3 and 7 is a par 2. You should be able to sink a par 3 with your duty rifle, no Sniper needed.

(Internet says Hole 5 is 228 yds. take a kneeling position and send it.)
