If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I wouldn't have bet on that!

I wonder how MLB is going to report on it...

I think he got a raw deal, since he was betting on his own team to win.  And the more indignation MLB expressed . . . the less convincing they were. (Had he been betting against his team - raising the specter of rigging the games - that would have been a different story.)

RIP, Pete.

He was made an example, pure and simple. League-wide betting was rampant so MLB picked the single most popular and prominent figure they could find as a "one and done" solution. It didn't help that he and Fay Vincent, former MLB commissioner and deputy commissioner at the time of Rose' ban, had were openly hostile to each other.

RIP, Pete.

And yet, we have Shohei Ohtani saying "I had NO idea my personal translator was "stealing" millions from me and betting on baseball!"

Right.

Right.

It's not gambling if you have a subordinate place the bets, right?

I just found out John Amos died.  Wiki says that was last month.  I guess I missed it.
