https://www.foxnews.com/media/cbs-news-staff-uproar-after-host-challenges-guests-anti-israel-views-network-leadership-responds

Short summary -- Jewish CBS anchor interviews a rabidly anti-Semitic US author about his wildly one-sided and misleading book on Palestine and Israel, calling it "something you'd find in the backpack of an extremist"

Tony Dokoupil asked Ta-Nehisi Coates tough and pointed questions about his book, his observations, and his beliefs. You know, doing what a journalist is SUPPOSED to do.

Well, his fellow staff members were apparently so offended (I'm guessing by the fact that Dokoupil didn't allow himself to be beheaded on air?) that he ended up being chastised by the CBS "Race and Culture" unit (you read that correctly) and there's a growing argument about the role of journalism at large.

The CEO of CBS's parent company is calling out the network for reprimanding Dokoupil for doing a journalist's job and is saying he never should have been reprimanded.

But, how dare any journalist be allowed to call out anti-Semitism, especially a Jewish one?

I just love that these news organizations, when something like this happens, very clearly show their true organizational stripes by the actions of its employees -- in this case, Israel bad, rabidly anti-Semitic terrorism lover/apologist good.

. . . The CEO of CBS's parent company is calling out the network for reprimanding Dokoupil for doing a journalist's job and is saying he never should have been reprimanded . . .

Unless the CEO abolishes the CBS "Race and Culture" unit entirely, his supposed "callout" of the network is just meaningless posturing.
Trump won in 2016. And again in 2024. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

  • But they're SUPPOSED to be "military-style."

"Under Patrick's (Alvin Patrick) guidance, the CBS News Race and Culture Unit works with the executive producers of all platforms across the division to ensure the reporting reflects diverse perspectives.

"His team works closely with CBS News Standards and Practices to ensure all reporting meets CBS News' rigorous guidelines. He also oversees CBS Village, an online repository featuring CBS News reporting on diverse communities."

Oh.

So a Jewish reporter calling out racism / prejudice is racist / prejudiced?

A not very amusing concept.

Scanning some of the rest of that site reminds me of "scandal sheet" newspapers, which go beyond "if it bleeds it leads" to "if it even bruises, light your fuses."

Oog.  That's terrible.  But it rhymes.

Well, it does seem that he has uncovered that CBS News does not consider anti-Jew hate to be racist / prejudiced.

So true it is downright scary.  :O

Makes me think of "The Hunger Games" and how they call their country "Northam" (as in North America).
I'm beginning to wonder if it was a prophecy.
