The Marines were there on their own time, so to speak, and I would be curious to know what our current and former military members think about this.

Do you think that Harris will go for the death penalty if she is elected?

Quote
“Have you ever tried to overthrow the U.S. government?”

Interesting phrasing related to 06JAN. A certain political segment of the government considered it an "attempted overthrow", while other political segments of the government considered it a protest that was much less violent than pretty much any antifa protest.

If you peacefully attended 06JAN to exercise your first amendment rights, or your cellphone put you anywhere in the vicinity of 06JAN, and the government defines that as an attempted overthrow of the government, how do you answer that polygraph question? If you 100% believe you were rightfully and peacefully protesting (or even as this article alludes to, just walking through the Capitol, whose doors were open at the time), but you have been inundated with propaganda telling you that you tried to overthrow the government, you could easily spike the polygraph.

Back when I was in, when cell phones were car phones or those big bricks some rich guys had, I got some good advice from an old sergeant major.  He said to avoid strip clubs and political events.  He said even if it doesn't go bad for you, you still come away feeling like you need to shower.

Biggest thing is they are subject to UCMJ, not just normal laws like the rest of us.  This means that their Constitutional rights aren't as absolute as ours.  A lot of officers have bad mouthed the  president in public only to find themselves facing courts martial as a result.  I predict similar outcomes for these Marines.
No, I'm not mtnbkr.  ;)
