I think Bezos is a giant buffoon in general, but agree with his call on this one. Getting media back to respectability begins with them respecting the boundaries required of legitimate media (like objective reporting and not taking sides).

Let the irony of these couple of paragraphs sink in.

"He complained at the meeting that Bezos was destroying The Post's reputation as an "independent journalistic organization" and opposed the timing of the decision, noting how it could be interpreted by readers.

Shipley was asked whether Bezos expressed who The Post should endorse. He replied "I’m not going to say who he expressed a desire for or supported, because that’s just not my place."

"One thing that can’t happen in this country is for Trump to get another four years," one editor said at the meeting, per the Free Beacon.

Washington Post opinion writer Drew Goins reportedly suggested a way to circumvent the decision is to publish an editorial denouncing former President Trump without calling it an "endorsement" for Vice President Kamala Harris."

And, just in case you're wondering about The Post's 'journalistic integrity,' they've never, not once, endorsed a Republican for president.

1980? After 4 years of an incredibly disastrous Carter presidency? Nope. Reagan knows nothing about running a country! (Yet Carter was a shoe in to run the country 4 years earlier, according to the Post).

1984, after Reagan's economic revolution took hold and this country was looking at the best economic era since the 1950s? Nope! Reagan's gonna drop all sort of nukes on Russia and kill the entire world!

And so forth and so on.

*expletive deleted*ing tiresome twaddle from people who think that their opinions shouldn't be opinions -- they should be policy.

I wish I were Jeff Bezos rich, I truly do... I'd buy the Post and immediately shut it down. Lay off ever single one of those aholes.

One wonders if the days of "who, what, where, when, and why" ever existed, or if it was some drug-induced dream.

And wow, some of the self-pitying, self-delusional, navel gazing in this article is just... I'm not sure how I can categorize it other than pathetic.

They did not exist, and they were not a dream.

They were a specific propagandistic fantasy fronted by journalists so we would keep believing their opinions were worth something. It was also used to lend a veneer of respectability to whatever unpopular policy they wanted pursued. (Remember the Maine!!)
