French fries, home fries, tater tots...

Had all for breakfast over the years.

Oh, and pork & gravy over waffles and mashed potatoes was a common breakfast at hunting camp.

A cheeseburger, fries, and an ice cold Coke at the start of a day is amazing.

I cannot agree with your choice of soft drink, but a burger and fries breakfast sounds great to me. I've never understood why breakfast food has to be different than every other meal. I mean, why slum it with breakfast pizza when you could make a proper pizza with proper pizza toppings? Etc...

Arby's has those "hash brown wedges".  Burger King has those nickel-sized "hash rounds".  Both are preferable to ANY kind of "french fries" as they have more potato taste and are "crunchier" as well.  No ketchup required.   =D

They are poking fun at that "ToL" Pritzker again, not that he doesn't deserve to be "poked".

Have you been since they switched over to beef tallow for frying?  I keep meaning to go, but am never near a steak and shake at meal time.

Hate those darn things. Would always order onion rings instead

Went the other day. Fries are good.

They make you either order via app or kiosk.

For that kind of money, I'll just go to MickeyD's... Or a bar.

Shoe string fries are an abomination
Fries need to be big and thick as God intended

No, the abomination is fries not cooked evenly all the way through. Shoestring fries are not my preference, but they at least make it easier to cook evenly so that they're uniformly crispy. If they're made right, shoestrings are OK. It's steak fries you want to avoid, unless you know they cook 'em right.

I'm not a huge fan of shoestrings, but I'm not really a fan of most "steak" fries, either.

Potato Wedges, if they're done correctly, I can get behind. But it's hard to find a place that does them correctly.

Oddly enough, KFC used to do them perfectly.

New DNC PR project (courtesy of David Hogg): Appeal to young guys who just want to get laid and have fun.

I will say that he actually makes a good point in the first 20 seconds of the video, in that the dem party has become a bunch of nagging party poopers.

Place here called Indi's has some of best spicy wedges.

I understand that the best way to do fries is to boil first, let cool/freeze, and then fry. On the farm we always used bacon grease, but we had plenty.

I'm probably in a minority, but I consider McDonald's fries to be the best among fast food fries. Chick-fil-A's waffle fries come in  second, and nothing else is in the running. Burger King has better burgers, but their fries are awful. Five Guy's and Jake's Way Back Burgers? Meh!

Note: There aren't a lot of other options left around here, anyway. We still have Wendy's. Arby's is gone, Hardee's is gone, Roy Rogers is long gone. We've never had In-and-Out Burgers around here. Never even heard of Steak and Shake. No Whattaburger, either.

I'm also quite fond of McD's fries among the fast food chains.

I don't know about freezing them but for true English chips they get cooked in oil at 300 degrees until they are soft and then take them out and keep warm in the oven on a cookie sheet while heating the oil to 370 degrees and then recook in small batches until golden brown. I have used this method a lot and it works. I have seen recipes where they are cooked in water and vinegar and then they are frozen between batches but I usually don't have that kind of time.

Dunno. It's a chain. They showed up in my area maybe ten (or so) years ago. There are at least three just within my usual operating radius.

Prolly not. We don't have them in this corner of the Yoo Ess Ay, but IIRC Jim Chee used to chow down at Whataburger in Tony Hillerman's Navajo mystery novels.
