You're not missing anything.

I don't know what they're like now, but in the late 70s, we got our first ones in Calif, and it was like what In N Out is now - everybody wanted to go there.  I recall back then they were really picky about, and known for the quality of meat in the burgers. The one in my city only lasted a few years though, and they seemed to start dying out like crazy. I don't remember why. I don't believe I've seen one anywhere I've been West of the rockies in the last 30 years.

I wish Culver's would make it further east.

I've only eaten at a Culver's once, back in 2018 when I was in Iowa, and everything was absolutely top notch.

The fries were great, but the fried cheese curds were unbelievable.

And the butter burger was head and shoulders above the Wendy's double, which is my standard baseline for fast food burgers.

We're getting a Whataburger here in Hickory in the near future.  The building is almost complete.  SWMBO and I have fond memories of Whataburger from when we lived in Austin a gazillion years ago.  It was a place where we could get a quick late night meal after watching Rusty Wier perform at the Saxon Pub.  Their burgers were decent back then, but not super special that I recall.

They do make a very good burger, I got my wife hooked on them too

Looks like the closest ones to me are either in Canton, Ohio, or Maryville, Tennessee.

And hell.

My friends, who introduced me to Culver's in Iowa?

They moved to Texas year before last. And they have a Culver's in Texas. Nothing truly close to them, but there are a bunch in Dallas where their son and his family live.

We have plenty of Culvers here in St Louis County, and at least one in Franklin County.

I've been a few times, but for whatever reason I rarely go back.

No this is not a SNL skit

https://x.com/DogRightGirl/status/1916927237686755607

This article is worth a read, just for entertainment value.

https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/05/14/house-dems-eriously-say-ix-nay-on-eachment-impay-n3802756

Impeachment bro is getting all kinds of flack from other Democrats for his stunt, and even Tlaib is supporting a primary challenger against him, because he's (allegedly) doing nothing to help his district. So the impeachment ploy is to pump up his name recognition, especially with the far (far far far) left.

Not sure where this one should go, but if it happens, I'd say stay heeled with extra mags.

The pardon (if there is one) only applies to the Federal charges:

https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/former-minneapolis-police-officer-derek-chauvin-sentenced-more-20-years-prison-depriving

Due to the state-level convictions, Chauvin isn't going to be released even if pardoned by Trump.

(agreed about staying heeled)

Yeah, S2 Underground is suggesting that it's a false flag or psyop. As mentioned, only the hate crime charges would apply, and Trump supposedly knew nothing about it when asked.

I still say that even if it were true and the hate crimes only, antifa and others would go to town with the Molotovs.

If the President says he knows nothing about it, considering it has to come FROM him, then it's a dead issue. At this point it's the Left ginning up hate, looking to start some riots in the name of wokeness. Maybe BLM needs to buy another mansion?

I think right now they're more worried about paying legal bills.

Many of us, if not all, have witnessed the lunacy of the Left.m  Here's yet another example.  I picked this up at the IGOLD rally on Wednesday and it was in the "GunNews" magazine for May, 2025 and is a rather startling comment on what we face.

“I have little patience with people who take the Bill of Rights for granted.  The Bill of Rights, contained in the first ten amendments to the Constitution, is every American’s guarantee of freedom.” - - President Harry S. Truman, “Years of Trial and Hope”

I think right now they're more worried about paying legal bills.

Even if it is not BLM, "racism" is all some of those activists have in their life.  So trying to start Summer of Love 2.0 is what they will do.
