The ex-wife's statement. Sound like she could sue for harassment from the MSM (also possibly from congressional dems).

Two officers were fired for bucking their chain of command. Now they’re going to work at the Pentagon.

Looks like Trump is using a lot of outsiders.  Doesn't surprise me  Trump has no reason to trust anyone in the current military leadership.

Breaking news. Hegseth may be sunk from an unanticipated direction. Tillis (R) North Carolina.

Tillis flipped to a yes, they must have offered him a TV show on Newsmax or Fox after he retires.  ;)

Glad Tillis flipped his vote.  He's a swamp creature, as bad as McConnell.

Even if by the skin of his teeth, I'm glad to see Pete in there. I wasn't sure about him at first, but I think he has sold me on his boat rocking. Pete, Tulsi, and Kash are the most "outsider change agents" of all the nominees. I'm hoping the latter two make it through their confirmations as well. This boat needs a good rocking.

SECDEF message to the force.

Quote
Secretary Hegseth's Message to the Force
Jan. 25, 2025 |

It is the privilege of a lifetime to lead the warriors of the Department of Defense, under the leadership of our Commander in Chief Donald J. Trump. We will put America First, and we will never back down.

The President gave us a clear mission: achieve Peace through Strength. We will do this in three ways — by restoring the warrior ethos, rebuilding our military, and reestablishing deterrence.

o    We will revive the warrior ethos and restore trust in our military. We are American warriors. We will defend our country. Our standards will be high, uncompromising, and clear. The strength of our military is our unity and our shared purpose.

o    We will rebuild our military by matching threats to capabilities. This means reviving our defense industrial base, reforming our acquisition process, passing a financial audit, and rapidly fielding emerging technologies. We will remain the strongest and most lethal force in the world.

o    We will reestablish deterrence by defending our homeland — on the ground and in the sky. We will work with allies and partners to deter aggression in the Indo-Pacific by Communist China, as well as supporting the President's priority to end wars responsibly and reorient to key threats. We will stand by our allies — and our enemies are on notice.

All of this will be done with a focus on lethality, meritocracy, accountability, standards, and readiness.

I have committed my life to warfighters and their families. Just as my fellow soldiers had my back on the battlefield, know that I will always have your back. We serve together at a dangerous time. Our enemies will neither rest nor relent. And neither will we. We will stand shoulder to shoulder to meet the urgency of this moment.

Like each of you, I love my country and swore an oath to defend the Constitution. We will do that each and every day, as one team. Together we will accomplish the President's mission to deter war, and if necessary, defeat and destroy our enemies. Godspeed!

Let's hope he can deliver, which I believe he may be able to once those who would subvert him are rooted out.

That, sadly, will take a while.  Many are looking for ways to scrub anything they've written and done so they can hide and work to subvert from the inside.

With everything on the cloud these days, that is not easy to do if someone is determined to dig.

We are well past the first day or two.  Where is the promised story on those drones?  Did the aliens convince Trump to keep his mouth shut?  ;/

Hegseth (bolding mine):

Yikes. Hegseth just pulled Milley's security clearance, security detail, and is looking at taking a star away from him. That's starting hard.

I will say that as much as I think Milley is a political animal, if it's true that Iran has a price on his head, I probably wouldn't have a problem with him keeping a security detail. I don't know the backstory though.

They've pulled quite a few security details.  Argument is they've made enough off their government connections to pay for their own security.

Holy *expletive deleted*it.

I just got an official email from OPM.  It outlines the upcoming changes to Federal employment and offers a deffered resignation option if you wish.

Resign now and you get full pay and benefits through the end of the FY.

It also mentions that they do not guarantee that your job will stick around if you choose not to resign.

We have till Feb 6 to decide.  If you want out, reply to the email with the word "resign" and you're done.

Wow. That's seven months of pay and benies while you sit on your ass on a beach in Hawaii. I bet a lot of people are going to take that deal.
