I remember the first time I rewatched a movie on my high def TV that I had originally watched chipped in and painted on the stone wall of a cave in France. Only it wasn't known as France, back then, it was Thagland, because Thag had originally settled it.It was shocking how lifelike that new version was!
Figures. I just looked at the TV I bought again, and it went on an early Black Friday deal... It's now $69.99, as opposed to the $74.99 I paid. It's true what a friend of mine said the other day. When you're driving by the electronics stores these days you have to keep your windows closed because they'll practically throw a free TV or two into your car.
Yeah, I'll bet. If you had an 18 year old Sharp it was probably 720p50hz. Maybe 1080p. That Samsung is probably 4k120hz, and the LED backlight is going to give a contrast ratio one or two orders of magnitude better, plus zoned backlighting and HDR. A whole lot of imaging technology has happened in the last 18 years.Enjoy your old favorites upscaled to 4k. They'll look better then they did new.
Something I try to do is once I've bought something is to just not look at it's listing again.
If not, sit back and sip your coffee and watch the shenanigans unfurl.
If there are shenanigans, does that mean there are henanigans?Brad
So, do you have your new TV set up yet? Seren would appreciate being able to watch her shows uninterrupted on the big TV.Bradp.s. Did you turn off motion smoothing? It's "Auto Motion Plus" in Samsung-speak.
Oddly enough, the feet don't snap into place, they screw into place. WTF?
Lefty loosey righty tighty
Damn, takes longer to download and install the firmware updates for a new TV than it does to open, unpack, unwrap, set up, bundle up the packing materials, and turn the new TV on.
