How much actual science vs completely biased research to favor gov’t desired outcomes vs just plain ol *expletive deleted*ing off is going on in these gov’t employed/funded “scientific programs” is the question we should be asking.

Yes, we should absolutely ask that, frequently and continuously. If a new party came into power and said they want to re-evaluate research spending priorities, change the way money was allocated, focus better, or whatever, that would be one thing and that would be fine. That's not what MAGA is doing, of course. Instead they are just indiscreetly cutting existing funding along ideological lines with no process, no warning, no appeal, etc. It's a purge, and like everything else, it's not being done fairly and impartially, it's arranged on BS political and culture-war MAGA-woke ideological lines. They will tell you as much, and brag about it. But the rest of world isn't laughing. They will just draw the rational conclusion: Avoid the US in all cases and at all costs. The US is no longer a serious partner and engaging with them is no longer safe if they can elect a madman king who will just destroy everything that doesn't align with his ideology of the moment.. It's better to work with the CCP...at least you know what to expect.

I was prepared to give consideration to your post up until you used the term "the regime".

Don't like that word? Better get used to it. It's not my term...Trump has referred to himself as a king, and his actions consistently betray that he believes it. Thomas Jefferson was right...we should have never created the office of the president.

/r/space over on Reddit is livid over some NASA cuts coming from Trump and DOGE.

I got banned from that sub today for defending them, suggesting taxpayers would benefit from a combination of forcing space exploration to cut costs as SpaceX has demonstrated is clearly possible, plus several decades of continued observation of existing planetary science instruments.  That we barely had a century of accurate planetary data, and insufficient info to draw conclusions to how our solar system energy distribution operates over windows of millions of years.

To keep public opinion going "for finding corruption," the low info voters are going to want a return on their investment...

Take half of what is "clawed back" and buy national debit...

Take the other half, up to $5k/taxpayer, and return to citizens (allow us as individuals to decide if we want to have it go toward debt).

It'll be hard to counter "But those horrible Trumpers found all that money that people wasted or stole, and you got a nice chunk back" when campaign time comes around. I'm guessing that JD will be running, but the left does organization really well, and they still own the media.

We can negate much of that media stuff. Even tho there is still so much of it.

People are already screeching that Trump wants you taxed on tips, and he's going to take all of your social security, after taxing you on it, and you're going to have to work overtime for free...
