I am tempted by this.  4x scope to mount on a retro carbine.  I acquired a police trade in Colt AR15A2 carbine earlier this year.  Tempting.

Warrior Poet Society is having a sale, including their slings. They are not the cheapest, but for me, it is the best sling I have ever used for run and gun. Previously, I had found the bungee thing on other slings to be kind of a gimmick, but WPS makes it work.

Same.  I might have taken grey if they offered it at that price when I got mine. My only con is shouldering a rifle with the big ass shoulder buckles, but I guess that's all part of the padding comfort. I just swapped out for the included minimalist buckle for my strong side and all is well. Otherwise, well designed and super comfortable, and I dig the QD release.

The newer 256 sensors are much better than even 3 or so years ago. Higher refresh plus software black magic makes for some nice viewing.

Of course that holds true for the higher res thermal as well. The current gen 640 sights I've seen are very similar to, if not better than, what a milspec AN/PAS-13 gives you in a much handier form factor.
