Last I saw, there were 460 06JAN protestors in prison. That's a third of what Biden just commuted, and Biden isn't done yet. The left had better keep their traps shut when Trump pardons 1/3 the numbers that Biden did.

I'm seeing reports that the Chinese spies and child porn guy was a prisoner exchange with China. Not ideal, but as long as we got someone back better than Brittney Griner, I'm not too outraged.

The Newsweek article in the OP said that these were non-violent and drug offenders, who had been let out of pris9n dur8ng COVID and had been living at home since 2020, presumably not killing their fellow citizens.

I hate Biden more than most, but I'm not see8ng much here to get my panties in a wad.  From what I've seen of the Justice Department the last four years, I'm skeptical that ANY of their convictions are truly righteous.

Perhaps if he'd released a bunch of the folks that were burning down cities in 2020 I'd feel differ......Oh, wait.  They didn't go to jail in the first place.

More than 1400 have been charged.

One of the commutations was Rita Crundwell. In 2013 she was sentenced to 20 years in prison. She was city comptroller for Dixon Illinois and stole over $53 MILLION DOLLARS 💵 from the city to fund her lavish lifestyle.

It wouldn't shock me to learn there were a couple dozen people they wanted to give clemency to, but were concerned about the optics so they rolled them up with a 1000 or more other folks to hide them in the crowd.
