It wouldn't shock me to learn there were a couple dozen people they wanted to give clemency to, but were concerned about the optics so they rolled them up with a 1000 or more other folks to hide them in the crowd.

In general, I hate the thought of "lame duck" Officials Presidents.

There's too much unaccountable power involved in the interim.  I wish it were practical (since this isn't the days of horse and buggy travel) to have the elected President installed the day after the election is electorally certified or the loser concedes.

But back in the day, it wasn't normal to have a suspiciously treasonous person occupying the office, operating with the complicity of 50.0001% of the dumb illiterate voting public who vote with their bellies instead of their brains.

One of the commutations was Rita Crundwell. In 2013 she was sentenced to 20 years in prison. She was city comptroller for Dixon Illinois and stole over $53 MILLION DOLLARS 💵 from the city to fund her lavish lifestyle.

She was released from prison back in 2021.

One of Biden commutations was of Judge Michael Conahan.

Conahan was a Pennsylvania juvenile court judge who entered into a secret agreement with for profit juvenile facilies in which he essentially sold kids to the facility. For every kid he sentenced to the facility (resulting in hefty payments from the Commonwealth) he received a nice fat kickback.

He was one of two judges who was convicted for doing this.

Even the current governor of Pennsylvania, a Democrat who had been considered as Harris' VP running mate, decried the decision.

Well, hopefully now that he's out of prison, some of the kids that he sold off like cattle can get to him and exact the kind of justice to which he should have been subject in the first place.

These two judges are as evil as it gets.  They violated their public trust and abused children (more of less( for money.  Deserved to die in prison.

The fact that some of them were living at home under "house arrest" for three years because of Covid is a separate issue, that also pisses me off.

I think as the list continues to be combed through there will be a lot more people who should still be rotting in jail making the clemency list.
