IIRC I read somewhere Lenin didn't truest Stalin and didn't want him following him but by the time of Lenin's death Stalin had his fingers too far into the party's machinery to do anything about it.

Sounds about right. Very few, if anyone, trusted Stalin. Lenin didn't think he was intelligent, and said so to numerous people. But what no one saw was Stalin's ruthlessness and ability to outmaneuver everyone else.

Basically just about everyone underestimated Stalin and many paid for it with their lives later

You forgot that Carney eliminated the carbon tax within 2 hours of becoming interim PM, which was the Conservatives main point of support.

All the Cons had was "Trudeau bad and carbon tax bad" and Carney killed both of those.

Pierre also lost his seat in Parliament. An L like this on the Conservatives party is one for the history books.

Carney talks a good game but actually delivering...
