Watching, I'm curious: Does anyone know if there is a protocol that the past presidents don't participate in standing ovations? I didn't expect the dems to, but so far Bush hasn't stood once, including for stuff I recall him supporting during his time.

So I got the feeling from his first inaugural address that he was going in to reach across the aisle, and try to work with the system.  He mentioned several things the Dems at the time were in support of. We know how that worked out.

This second address is ..... pretty much the complete opposite of that.
