And the Executive Order 👍👍👍 - https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/protecting-second-amendment-rights/

Quote
Protecting Second Amendment Rights
EXECUTIVE ORDER
February 7, 2025

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:

     Section 1.  Purpose.  The Second Amendment is an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty.  It has preserved the right of the American people to protect ourselves, our families, and our freedoms since the founding of our great Nation.  Because it is foundational to maintaining all other rights held by Americans, the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed.

     Sec. 2.  Plan of Action.  (a)  Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Attorney General shall examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies (agencies) to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens, and present a proposed plan of action to the President, through the Domestic Policy Advisor, to protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.
     (b)  In developing such proposed plan of action, the Attorney General shall review, at a minimum:
          (i)    All Presidential and agencies’ actions from January 2021 through January 2025 that purport to promote safety but may have impinged on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens;
          (ii)   Rules promulgated by the Department of Justice, including by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, from January 2021 through January 2025 pertaining to firearms and/or Federal firearms licensees;
          (iii)  Agencies’ plans, orders, and actions regarding the so-called “enhanced regulatory enforcement policy” pertaining to firearms and/or Federal firearms licensees;
          (iv)   Reports and related documents issued by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention;
          (v)    The positions taken by the United States in any and all ongoing and potential litigation that affects or could affect the ability of Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights;
          (vi)   Agencies’ classifications of firearms and ammunition; and
          (vii)  The processing of applications to make, manufacture, transfer, or export firearms.

     Sec. 3.  Implementation.  Upon submission of the proposed plan of action described in section 2 of this order, the Attorney General shall work with the Domestic Policy Advisor to finalize the plan of action and establish a process for implementation.

     Sec. 4.  General Provisions.  (a)  Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
          (i)   the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or
          (ii)  the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
     (b)  This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
     (c)  This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

It's a good start.

After decades of relentless (And well funded) work, I think the antis anticipated Harris win in 2024 with disarming of gun owners while treating them as second class citizens.

Instead, 2025 with Trump win, Republican majority in House/Senate/Supreme Court and EO on Second Amendment with efforts to dismantle ATF/NFA nightmare situation is not what antis likely imagined.

I am looking forward to building and shooting suppressed "standard" magazine fed braced pistols in CA real soon with perhaps forced reset triggers while carrying it most everywhere. =D =D =D

It's a good start.

No, it's not. It's limited to Biden administration actions. Many of the federal laws and regulations that plague gun owners date to long before Biden took office. This is as much to poke another stick in Biden's eye as it is to help gun owners -- probably more so.

It's limited to Biden administration actions

That's not how I read the EO.

Quote
"Sec. 2.  Plan of Action ... AG shall examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens ...

     (b)  In developing such proposed plan of action, the AG shall review, at a minimum"

EO clearly states AG "examine all ... any ongoing infringements" and "at a minimum".  So there's no upper limit on what AG can examine/assess if they actively infringe on 2A.

I suspect we'll have a decision on Snope on Monday morning. If the reasoning was they want to grant it, but not hear it til next term, then now they can do so. Cases granted from here on out are generally heard next term.

If it's no news or a denial, they were just torturing us for no reason I guess.

Unconfirmed, but Mrgunsngear is reporting that Trump has appointed Kash Patel as Interim ATF Director.

https://youtu.be/1Ai8UzZIdwM

I suppose that's something that someone who planned to dismantle the ATF might do, were they to roll some ATF stuff into the FBI. Though I'm not sure if I want the FBI involved with gun laws four or eight years from now.

Nice development that could really change the future of 2A enforcement/application.

But ATF should be dismantled AFTER all the current litigations and "interpretations/rules" were properly settled and clarified so only "administrative" work is left instead of "enforcement".

Time to make a lot more popcorn.  [popcorn]

I wonder if FBI director is also being appointed as acting director of ATF because ATF is anticipated to be dismantled and related enforcement will be shifted to FBI?

If so, this is going to get crazy.

There is literally no point in “abolishing the ATF” if it only means 5,000+ employees change the letters on their windbreakers from ATF to FBI.

We have to repeal all federal infringements AND THEN eliminate this rogue federal agency.

Won't it be funny if Brandon Herrera is named deputy director of ATF?  :rofl:

The New ATF Director Has Been Chosen - https://t.co/zCCc8sAQ48

- I can tell you that Kash was my dream pick for director of the FBI
- We also got an announcement that Dan Bongino was just selected as deputy director of the FBI
- With Kash and Bongino running the show, I'm hoping to get some solid policy changes just in the next couple months
- Granted there's a lot of work on the back end that has to be done with this ... but from what I'm being told the gun community's wish list is being taken in very serious consideration

- Now circling back as for my trip to DC ... it was a very productive trip to both the White House and the Pentagon
- The Pentagon trip was actually for the unsubscribed podcast we were actually given permission to film a podcast in the production room of the Pentagon which is insane to me cuz that's not really a
place a lot of people are allowed to go.  On top of that, they let us interview a bunch of high ranking folks
- Now on to the White House, I'm kind of in this weird place where I'm not really sure what I am and what I'm not allowed to talk about so I'll just keep this pretty brief
- It was incredible to feel the energy of the meetings and the people that are just even in the hallways ... means business
- Pretty much everybody I know within the administration has told me in one way or the other that term one Trump and term two Trump are radically different people
- I can tell you this ... if the team Trump has around him now can accomplish even a third of some of the things I've heard tossed around, this might be one of the most Pro Second Amendment administrations in the last century
- There's a lot of damage to undo but there's a lot of people there willing to do it as with all things politics you know
- Only time will tell but I can tell you this ... I came home with a lot more hope than I have felt in a
long time
- I always said you need to gut the parts of the ATF that make no sense and then some of the legitimate stuff like the arso investigations, the cartel operations like the real ones
- Seems like a pretty good start that the director of the FBI is now head of the ATF

This is an interesting development ...  [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn]

While Kash Patel was appointed as "acting" director of ATF, Texas Gun Rights is reporting Dan O'Kelly is being considered for "permanent" director of ATF.

Dan O’Kelly will soon Replace Kash as ATF Director? - https://txgunrights.org/dan-okelly-will-soon-replace-kash-as-atf-director/
Quote
... Kash Patel was named acting director of the ATF ... Patel’s appointment was seen as a step in the right direction, given his history of challenging deep-state bureaucracies and his strong support for constitutional governance. However, his tenure is expected to be temporary, with reports indicating that Dan O’Kelly is being considered as his permanent replacement in the near future.

Here's VSO Gun Channel talking about this latest development.
