A friend of mine made some sort of burger/biscuit mix a few months ago with that. I enjoyed it.

We have made them several times and they were always good...
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!

Why?

They didn't taste good? The box mix failed for some reason? The lobster on the box came alive and pinched you on the ass?

Did you overcook them and dry them out?

I've made them a couple of times over the years and have never had them turn out like that.

Baked goods can be VERY sensitive to overcooking. Even if it doesn't look as if something is overcooked, the internal temperature can flash over to more than 212 deg. F, and that's the temperature at which all of the moisture in the baked good waves bye bye with a middle finger.

No - I did add a bit more cheese, and I doubt that would do it... I may try some of the frozen ones...
