I wonder who is going to blink first on the bilateral China tariffs, and will a way be found for both sides to save face and satisfy their respective political constituencies. Given their status as trading partners, I would not think this could go on for very long without significant damage to national economies.

So, I was sort of looking at an ebike on Amazon, and... Very low price, free shipping, may be a mistake, don't know what will happen, but...

It is currently in transit from China. Let's see if they try to mark it up.

I am enjoying the irony of this latest round of "talking points have been sent out" hysteria from the MSM on "THIS IS HOW MUCH YOUR iPHONE WILL COST IF IT'S MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!" and other "it will cost more in the US" stuff.

Under Biden we heard nothing but "LIVING WAGE!" and "$15/HR FOR HAMBURGER FLIPPERS! YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY A LITTLE MORE FOR YOUR BURGER!"

Now between potential tariffs and China cutting off rare earths, the stuff the wokies use will cost more. They want to rant about fair wages and other stuff using their iPhones, but they still want their iPhones to be made by slave labor.

It's no different than Biden saying oil and natural gas production in the United States harmed people and communities of color so he's scaling it back and cancelling the pipelines...

And then BEGGING the Saudis and other middle east oil producers to ramp up production because he was getting savaged for high gas prices in the US, because... harming those people and communities of color doesn't count because they don't vote in our elections.

High fuel prices don't hurt the people who demonstrated their virtue by driving an EV or a Hybrid...

They hurt the guy who drives a 10mpg truck to go to work.

Yes, because that's one thing that the Biden administration knew, and sang to the heavens, is that the POC communities in the United States were 100% equipped with electric vehicles, and he was just trying to help out all of us poor cracker bastards, even though we don't deserve any help at all because of being cracker bastards and all.

On the reddits this morning, there was a theme of responding to a Trump statement about the US financing itself through tariffs without any income tax through 1913. The consensus was that Trump is a dummy and that we've always had income tax. Also that the majority of countries do not currently have tariffs.
