Just sayin.

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?

If it weren't for dogs there wouldn't be a single worthwhile life form on this planet.
MAGA unto others as you would have them MAGA unto you!

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring—it was peace. — Milan Kundera

....who would swim 30 yards through icy water to fetch the duck I had downed?  And get even with me by shaking off a gallon of cold water spray right next to me when she delivered the game.  And turn sideways to me, to make sure I got the most benefit.

Go ahead, dog... laugh !

I have never had a dog. Lot's of cats. I don't like most people near as much as I like dogs and cats though.

I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!

My parents were heavily involved in Greyhound Rescue in Pennsylvania. They had, I think, 7 of their own over time and fostered/transported probably a dozen more.

Pretty cool dogs.

Same here. I'd also be plopping my ass on a new reclining sofa.

But, I'd rather have Seren.

Same on the carpet. If nothing else, dogs teach us what's really important (and even save us money!).  =)

"and even save us money!"

Until they get treatably sick and you end up spending north of $20,000 on their care.

And you'd be willing to spend multiples of that to keep them around.

This quote, which I've had in my signature for a couple of years now, sums up dogs very nicely.

Of course that's a translation from either his native Greek or his adopted Italian, but the sentiment is true no matter what the language or era.

True, and I've had over twenty-five dogs (including litter pups) in my lifetime.  But  dogs won't purr on your lap, thereby raising the perceived room temperature four or five degrees and saving energy costs.

I like pets in general, and the ashes of my favorite cat are with me in the living room and my favorite dog's ashes are in my storage locker with the urn engraved:
