Seymour is about 45 min from my home town of Crowell. Lots of FB chatter on the storm.

UNREAL. This thunderstorm over far south Texas on Wednesday morning is 70,000 FEET TALL.

It has officially surpassed the end of our color scale at @MyRadarWX
.

That makes it roughly TWICE the height that normal commercial jets operate at; likely a mile plus into stratosphere.

I've seen many supercells giving the finger to 60K ft and a few tickling 65K, but 70 thousand? Damn. If they can confirm the height, I think that sets a new record.

Same thing when I lived in Colorado years ago.  We'd see the occasional storm top 60k and rarely 65k.  Those were impressive.  This 70k storm had to have been a real monster.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I am South of Houston.  We had some big storms blow through this morning.  I didn't hear about any tornados.  Hell of a lightning show.

Las Vegas had 0.61 inches of rain in one hour yesterday (10x in normal monthly amount for May). Most places can't take that kind of rain but Vegas sure can't. AFAIK there was only one person swept away but who now about the homeless in the tunnels under Las Vegas. I guess they will check on them for the next few days. They had nearly as much the day before which gave then 1.4 inches or so for two days. Meanwhile 60 miles west and over a tiny mountain range we got rain but just a nice small soaking type rain on Monday with no real flooding.

Yep, rain is big news here. :)

The red box shows where the camera detected motion, probably just wind blowing the plant. Even on their lowest setting, they detect moving shadows, leaves, and mostly, cats.

Ryan Hall started his live coverage for today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTkFSVhoF4g

We had some storms roll through this morning but it looks like we should be mostly clear for the next few hours. Around 19:30 things could get spicy here though.

Tornado on the ground in St. Louis
Where's Bogie?

Just east of St. Louis, power has clicked on & off at least 8-10 times in the last 30 minutes.  Hasn't stayed off, thankfully.  Most of the storm(s) are 10+ miles north of here, some thunder, Dish lost service for a couple of minutes.
Streets just slightly wet, winds have died down, earlier reports from Missouri reported 1-2" hail.

ETA:  News reported in the last few minutes that over 30,000 power outages in St. Louis County, lesser amounts in St. Charles and Jefferson counties.

Where's Bogie?

Good question. There has been some significant damage.

Lots of hail in the County, but no tornado.

The preacherman posted some photos of our church and parsonage grounds covered in hail.
