This is just plain weird:

BOSTON (AP) -- On April 25, Gregory Despres arrived at the U.S.-Canadian border crossing at Calais, Maine, carrying a homemade sword, a hatchet, a knife, brass knuckles and a chain saw stained with what appeared to be blood. U.S. customs agents confiscated the weapons and fingerprinted Despres. Then they let him into the United States.

The following day, a gruesome scene was discovered in Despres' hometown of Minto, New Brunswick: The decapitated body of a 74-year-old country musician named Frederick Fulton was found on Fulton's kitchen floor. His head was in a pillowcase under a kitchen table. His common-law wife was discovered stabbed to death in a bedroom

Well, yeah, but he promised to vote for representatives of the Democratic (sic) party, so it's okay.

Now, what would you have done with him.  He was a US citizen.  No warrents out for his arrest, no way to hold him legally.  Not yet wanted for the murders.  It is too bad that the bodies turned up after they let him in, but unless you want to detain everyone that looks weird and has suspicious things in their car (guns, anyone?), they couldn't keep him.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply they should have done something differnt. It just amazed me that he would drag the murder weapons around with him. That's why I thought it was weird.

Canada will probably try to extradite him.

Maybe we should refuse to extradite unless Canada agrees to seek the death penalty if he's convicted of capital murder? Wink

WWW. glennbeck.com on page 2 has a picture of the dood.  Scarey.

Oh, but the crimes were committed in Canada, TMM.

You pretty much can't defend yourself with a firearm in Canada.

They're dangerous, don't you know.
