But not by a lot. 28-10. Pretty embarrassing display by England really

Of course this isn't anything like the English team that won four years ago, and there aren't any great expectations of them this time around.

I'm probably talking to myself, but perhaps one other person is paying attention to the rugby World Cup.

(We also beat Israel at football and India at cricket today, but I'd expect there is even less interest in those two sports)

College FOOTBALL is in the second week of play and the OU Sooners just thumped the Miami Tropical Storm 51-13.

And the NFL has kicked off already.

And for the NASCAR fans Richmond is tonight.  Final race before the chase.

I'm sorry if my distaste of sports gets on your nerves, I have NEVER been the slightest bit interested in them, yet constantly forced to play them in school, and even now forced to watch/listen/hear about them in my adulthood.

Yup, there are a couple of us here.  28-10 over the US is pretty embarrassing.  Should have been closer to the Australia v Japan match.  Ouch!  91-3.  Of course, that's the biggest problem with international rugby.  There aren't enough good teams.  You've got 20 teams playing in the RWC and only 4 to maybe 6 teams with a real chance of winning.

The USA team put on a good show. It can't help that a lot of the best athletes in the USA are playing other sports, but maybe being in the World Cup might get them some more talent interested in joining.

Rather than watch sports on TV, I went out and rode 30 miles in the mountains, including several climbs of more than a mile in length.

I think I'd be excited to watch it, maybe moreso than football. I don't give much of a crap about sports, but I give just enough to feel fine sitting down with people who give greater craps and watch it with them.

Yeah, that'd didn't last long. Part of the panicked call to the police about an ensuing brawl included something about a very large and very drunk Scottish man holding a table over his head.  grin
