Oriental is my favorite flavor.

I'm trying so hard to not make an off-color joke... Really, I  am.

Shrimp are scavengers.

They'll eat anything.

Including Orientals.

Barf. Shrimp are disgusting.  Not only are they scavengers, but unless they're 'deveined', your eating the intestinal tract along with the rest of it. Nasty barf barf.

So, shrimp scavenge.

What do catfish do? Must something eat something palatable to be suitable? Thinking of pig slop here...

Shrimp taste good and don't kill me, therefore they are food and are eaten when I have them. Catfish and pork as well.

I really really dislike catfish.

I don't particularly care that shrimp are scavengers. God knows I eat enough shrimp.

Same goes for all shellfish. In blue crabs that's called the "mustard," and wouldja believe, it not only looks but tastes like mustard?

Fried catfish and eggs with collard greens (with pepper vinegar) on the side, along with grits and black coffee-and-chicory. Good breakfast. :9

Here's another vote for dropping an egg in.  Actually, I'm up to three eggs per packet of Ramen.  Makes a rather hearty and quick meal for the price.

You mean like an egg drop soup with lots of noodles?

I'll have to give that a try.

The Japanese traditional serving of Ramen often includes a cooked fishcake and a hard-boiled and sliced or poached egg tossed in on top of the soup.  smiley
