Bill Clinton Takes On 9/11 Conspiracy Protesters
« on: October 26, 2007, 09:49:58 AM »
Good for Bill.

Bill Clinton addressed a crowd in Minneapolis, Minnesota at a fundraiser for his wife's campaign on Tuesday.

Clinton's 50-minute speech, which started about an hour behind schedule, was derailed briefly by several hecklers in the audience who shouted that the 2001 terrorist attacks were a fraud. Rather than ignoring them, Clinton seemed to relish a direct confrontation.

"A fraud? No, it wasn't a fraud," Clinton said, as the crowd cheered him on. "I'll be glad to talk to you if you shut up and let me talk."

When another heckler shouted that the attacks were an "inside job," Clinton took even greater umbrage.

"An inside job? How dare you. How dare you. It was not an inside job," Clinton said. "You guys have got to be careful, you're going to give Minnesota a bad reputation."

As much as I loathed Bill Clinton when he was POTUS, I agree with him about 911.  You need to keep your loathing under control.  Just because you despise somebody on a visceral level doesn't make him wrong on every topic.

I didn't like Bill Clinton either, but if given a choice between him or Hillary, I think I know which way I would go.

Might not agree with his politics, but I think he's due a nod of approval for how he handled that.

The "troofers" are starting to scare me. First Bill Mahr, and now Clinton. They're downright crazy, and I worry they're going to do something dangerous to prove "how buildings fall" or something. They're totally deranged conspiracy cultists.

Words on the internet was one thing, but now they're going to events, infiltrating and standing up to bellow their nuttiness...major TV show audiences and political appearances.

What will they do next if they think people are, wisely, ignoring them?

When Bill Maher is the voice of reason in the room, it is time to find another room.

Yeah, the truthers are starting to worry me.

whats scary is their fervor. had one staying here adamant that no plane hit the pentagon. hearing it straight from another guy who was down there and saw it didn't sway him. i even shwed him how the wings fold forward on impact using a model plane and this kid was still bug eyeed and ranting.

Yeah the Pentagon "missile" hit it is the easiest to debunk.

Why use a missile when you HAVE a plane? Seriously. And where did that plane go? Where is Barbara Olsen and the rest of the people that were onboard?

Just because there is no good video of the crash does not mean it did not happen, but not to these guys. They have a perverse need to twist everything around and make the obvious into the imposible. Somehow they got ahold of Occam's idiot brother's razor.

And if you have missiles, why not just use them on all the targets? It would seem to be a might easier than hijacking planes. Although hijacking planes does have it's own value beyond just the destruction that could be caused by them.

AND if you have "back-up" missiles why not shoot the White House or the Capital? Wasn't 93 supposed to hit one of those? Well, it never showed so the on site back up missile boys must of been asleep.

As to the Towers, either they were rigged with explosives OR they were shoddily built. The former means crews of people working in conspicious places to plant the explosives for as many days as it would take...the latter means construction budgets being skimed, union bosses being paid off and government inspectors being bribed to let it all pass. Given the two choices I know which one is easier for me to believe.

Yep, all of those eye witnesses are nothing more than people who have been mass hypnotized/coopted by the grand conspiracy.

Flown out to sea by remote control (according to one conspiracy nut who used to post on the BBC web forums).

What gets me is that 15 or so years ago, the lunatic fringe was almost exclusively _right wing_. You had a LOT of conspiracy nuts prowling the gun boards.

Now, it seems like we're the sane ones, and the "I can't get over my real smart candidate Gore getting beaten by that guy who actually graduated from stuff" crowd is so vegged out that it's grasping at darn near anything, and repeating it until they believe it...

Even worse, look at the World Bank riots and such.

They're so peaceful that they're violent about peace.

I'm surprised at you, Manedwolf...

Violence in pursuit of socialist goals is right.

Violence in pursuit of conservative goals is wrong.

Silly man.

I've always loved how many demonstrators who perpetuate violent acts scream repression/violation of civil rights when they are arrested.

Sort of reminds me of Lethal Weapon 2, where the South African opens up on Riggs and Murtaugh with a handgun and then claims diplomatic immunity...

Now that is a funny one!  Hadn't heard it before.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

I've been reading the PopMech debunking. Good stuff I had not read much of the conspiracy sources just what was being posted in forums. So I was suprised to find out that the "missile" strike was sattelite guided into the Pentagon as part of a military coup attempt.

Hmmm, just the one then? That's all a plotter is going to need to damage the military infrastructure enough to take over? One missile?

Hitting one side of one building is all you need, is it? No corrosponding strikes on bases with troops available for reaction attacks? No attempts at other places where a counter-attack could be organized? Just the one shot is all you need? Wow.

If it was me and I had those kind of resources (and the requisite evilosity) I would have flattened the 5-gon, the WH and the Capitol building and State and the DOD. Whatever troops/bases nearby that were not in on the plan would have been pasted and my troops, the ones "lucky enough" to not be hit would have secured the area. And then what? Well, I don't know since Congress does not actually live in the Capitol Building  they would still be alive and functioning. So I guess I would have to round all those guy up plus the surviving cabinet members...and the POTUS who wasn't home! He was in Florida so most of the GOV would still be going. And spread out which would make it harder to get all of them under control. Bad planning on my part, not waiting until they were all in one small area, like say D.C. during normal business hours.

It would have been the worst coup attempt ever even with my modifications. So the "magic missile" theory of being able to take over the FedGov with one hit on one side of one building is perhaps the Stupidist. Conspiracy. Theory. EVER!
