Best site for estimating car values?
« on: October 30, 2007, 04:52:16 AM »
Is there a site you're aware of that gives accurate estimates as to a car's resale value? I've checked out Kelly Blue Book, and the resale values seem rather high.

This what I use, if I really want to know everything I call my little brother who is a manager at a GM car lot and he looks it up in their book.

I use edmunds, but mostly for reviews and specs.

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

kbb.com is a high, relative to edmunds.com.  I haven't used nada.com much.

They are all rough guesstimates.  They use algorithms to discount vehicles' values over time, not actual market data.

To get a more accurate estimate, shop your vehicle around.  You'll get an idea of the wholesale price for your market.

There's several online. You can find what your car is going for. We used it when we bought our last car to price shop. It beats driving all over the place.
