Being the world's cop is our national security.

Then we're doomed, like every other empire in history. Hint: the British made the same claim in the 19th century. They called it the "white man's burden."

If we stop there won't be peace, harmony, and hugs worldwide.

Nobody claims it would. The idea is to stop bullying the non-threats, while still slaughtering the actual threats. In the recent debate, McCain distinguished Vietnam and Iraq by completely repudiating the domino theory, and admitting that Vietnam was never a real threat in the first place. Ironic.

If you want peace, prepare for war.

That's not your actual stance. Your stance is, "If you want peace, wage war." You do realize that what's happening in Iraq is not "preparation," right?

Len, we are all doomed. 

One day, America will be history.  Get used to it.  We may have many (or no) rebirths of American liberty and power along the way, but be assured that America will be ground into the dust. 

The fifth column inside America will one day achieve its goal and America will suicide as did Rome.

Most likely the consequences of such a fall will be disastrous for the entire world.  I am of the belief that America was an anomaly and unique in a history filled to the brim with savagery and oppression.  The work of Western Civ points to America as its penultimate goal.  After America has fallen, I expect another Dark Age.  Truly, TEOTWAWKI.

And yes, we now keep the sea lanes open in a manner similar to the Brits of the past few centuries.  Such is a necessary precondition for world trade, as the non-aggression principle has not yet been translated into other languages.

Nonaggression is compatible with self-defense. That's why the 2A is right there in the bill of rights. This country was founded on nonaggression by a populace armed to the teeth. THAT form of nonaggression works, and it doesn't involve hippies or VW buses.
